To my friends from the road-love ya, miss you-and expect a hug that is just a little tighter next time I see you.
In memory of Rachel Elizabeth
This week’s Ramblings have taken a little turn. When we travel we meet some of the most wonderful people over the years, we make friends and acquaintances here and there. We look forward to seeing everyone in our travels and never get to spend as much time as we would like to with them. Technology makes it easier to stay in touch and I know I like to see what everyone is up to in today’s media….such as facebook etc. All these people have touched our lives, and when someone passes on-especially someone young it is heartbreaking. It is devastating to those left to deal with the emptiness and loneliness, the days of sorting through things and wishing there had just been one more minute for that last “I love you” or picking up the phone and catching your breath with sobs as the realization of never being able to speak those words again. My heart goes out to those who are left behind this week. Anyone who has lost someone they love -young or old- knows this. There are no true words of comfort for those that have lost-my only advice is to keep breathing –one breath after the other- get through one second at a time. We never know when it will be our time. I was at a continuing education lecture given by the local coroner and the quote that has stuck in my mind from that is “it is a miracle we wake up every day”.
