Covered Bridge Park

A warm May day took us out to a little park my husband had found to explore.  It was odd in that it was a walking trail that was well maintained encircling abandoned ball fields.  The park wasn’t too far from our home, and I am almost always up for a walk.  Now I tend to be a little more suspect then my husband when it comes to venturing out like this, so I tucked my pepper spray in my pocket as he rolled his eyes at me-I just rolled my eyes back…pepper spray is better than nothing and I can run faster than my husband so I thought I will be ok.
As we walked along the quiet beautiful little trail a warm breeze circled through the tall grasses and around us creating a musical rustling.  The smell of the spring earth filled the air.  We walked on as I looked over at the giant power lines looming over the overgrown ballfields I could almost hear the laughter of children, the cheering of parents and imagine the smell of sweaty kids, salty snacks and fruity drinks.  Of course there was none of that now just empty bleachers, concrete block remains of structures that once housed equipment, ivy covered cages behind home plate, and the shell of the old bathrooms with a newer sleeping bag in them, so someone is still using this park.
Off the trail were multiple little side paths, which intrigued me.  We ventured off the main trail a bit and found out it led to a local cemetery.  We plan on going back and exploring more on another day, since time was starting to run short and who knows where these other paths would lead-hopefully to show me the answer of why it is called Covered Bridge Park, we never found a covered bridge and there didn’t seem to be any information on the internet, so we will just have to explore more another day.

I could say photographer, but I am a collector of minutes in time, visual memories.
