We had a great time exploring urban Youngstown, went to the show, and just started heading home when a dreaded old feeling came back. Steve looked at me and I looked at him and we just knew –another brake problem and of course we were not in the greatest neighborhood. We made it up the hill before we stopped in a parking lot. I could smell the smoke. I jumped to the back of the rv grabbing the fire extinguisher on the way out the back door. To my dismay the flames were licking up around the front fender. I quickly went to work and hit it with the extinguisher–I didn’t have a very big extinguisher so I knew I had to have careful aim and get it knocked down the best I could. After the extinguisher was emptied there was still some smouldering so I ran over to the drive thru-a drive thru convenience store that is completely wrapped in bars, another indication that this is not the greatest spot to be broken down but I jumped between the cars and asked the worker to call the fire department. Youngstown FD showed up and finished putting it out for me.
So I do have a much larger extinguisher now. Hopefully I won’t have to use it again! Although I do have to say every time I hear a new squeak, knock, moan or groan I am still a little jumpy. But after the repairs fingers crossed we will be good in our travels for a while.
